Several WAY staff and family members came out to help clean three vacant lots and a home near WAY Academy. We also handed out free popcorn to passerby and created a community painting.

What a difference we made as a small team of people who work together to make the neighborhood we serve a safer, cleaner, and more a beautiful place to live!

WAY is a part of the Arise Detroit Community, a really unique and project-based event taking place at various locations throughout Detroit. Each participating organization has their own focus on what they provide for the community on that day, including neighborhood empowerment through local business and neighbors sharing ideas on student involvement improving the neighborhood while earning standards and credit toward graduation.
